Sales Manager – Essex / Suffolk

THE ROLE: In line with the company objectives to generate new and develop existing customers, to maximise revenue opportunities within a designated area covering depots in Basildon, Harlow & Ipswich. To ensure retention and growth of the customer base through a structured management of the customer portfolio. To work with the groups depots and other sales personal within the company network. To take complete responsibility for the targeted sales activities within the defined patch, ensuring all current business opportunities and key accounts are developed to their maximum potential. Alongside the traditional account management responsibilities you will also seek out new business opportunities.


  • To identify the existing customer base and visit these customers on a regular basis
  • To identify potential new customers cultivate relationships and convert these to trading customers
  • Maintain close contact with key account portfolio customers
  • Ensure all customers within the region are serviced effectively to maximise hire and sales opportunities.
  • To monitor and negotiate prices to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Monitor stock levels with Operations, to ensure the most efficient response to customers.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints ensuring a quick and amicable resolution is achieved.
  • Continually promote a customer service orientated culture within the region
  • Contribute ideas to the business development team and organisation.
  • Ensure consistent high quality of customer satisfaction



  • Communications skills, ability to communicate both written and verbal, and express views to all clients across multi sectors and different levels of seniority.

  • Strong industry knowledge of Plant & tool hire equipment.

Hire Desk Controller – Newmarket Depot

The Role: Working as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced Plant & Tool hire Depot. To provide a prompt & efficient service to customers both internal & external. To maximise all revenue opportunities. To administer all associated paperwork & to provide outstanding customer service at all times.

Position Responsibilities

  • Deal with telephone, email & face to face enquiries / orders from customers, and provide accurate information as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of all paperwork and that procedures for hire / sales contracts, purchase orders, stock transfers, asset administration, are adhered to.
  • Liaise with the workshop to ensure equipment required for hire is available.
  • Co-ordinate Drivers to ensure equipment is delivered and collected from customers on time and efficiently.
  • Maximise consumable sales opportunities at every opportunity.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met in relation to reporting of information.
  • Work within the Health & Safety policy of the company to ensure safe working practises.
  • Ensure availability and utilisation of fleet, both within the depot and through cooperation with other NPH depots.

HGV II Driver (Cat. C) – Harlow Depot


  • Multi drop delivery / collection of plant and tool hire equipment.
  • Safe loading, unloading and securing (this involves operation of plant equipment, diggers, dumpers, rollers etc. therefore previous experience is preferred however, full onsite training is available)
  • Good geographical knowledge of local area.
  • Experience of daily vehicle checks.
  • Neat and accurate completion of required paperwork.

  • Physically fit as position will require some manual handling.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving experience in a similar environment, driving responsibly and safely within the law at all times.

A Clean UK class C or EU equivalent licence, driver cpc card and digi-tacho card is essential.

Working hours will be basic 45 hours Monday to Friday but overtime may be required to meet business demands.
